How is the Marine Corps Leauge organized?
The Marine Corps League and the Department of Washington are organized much like the organization we are familiar from our time in the Corps. The Department of Washington has four elected "leadership chairs" that along with the chaplain, adjutant paymaster and junior past commandant comprise the board of directors. The leadership chairs are Judge Advocate, Junior Vice Commandant, Senior Vice Commandant and Commandant.

Starting at the bottom there are detachments which operate on the hometowm level. Detachments are considered to be the heart and soul of the Marine Corps League as without the members in the hometowns (often referred to as "redhats" from the color of their covers) there would be no need for the rest of the League.
|
| |
Immediately above the detachments is the department. The department of Washington currently has 18 detachments spread over the height and breadth of the state.
|
| |
The Department of Washington is a part of the Northwest Division. There are 10 divisions in the League and these are organized to assist with the information up to and down from National.
|
| |
Divisions report to the National Marine Corps League, Inc. which is a federally chartered veteran's service organization and is tax exempt under IRS Code 601 (c)(3).
|
| |
The elected leadership of the Department of Washington are Commandant Bill "Coach" McCutchin, Senior Vice Commandant Ed Falter, Junior Vice Commandant Dan Abbott and Judge Advocate Rex Hopper.
|
| |
Other members of the Board of Trustees are Junior Past Commandant Dennis Dressler, Adjutant Paymaster John Stofiel and Chaplain George LaFrazia.
