Meetings

The Department of Washington meets three times a year. The department has its annual convention yearly in the mid to late May to early June time frame.

The site of the annual convention changes yearly based upon which detachment makes a bid to host the convention. The convention routinely starts with early registration on Thursday followed by business meetings on Friday and Saturday and culminates in a banquet, awards presentation and installation of officers on Saturday evening. There is normally a silent auction and the Auxiliary's Ship Store so you can bring home items that you might not otherwise be able to acquire.

The Department of Washington Convention for 2012 is being hosted by the Olympia Detatchment. The dates for the 65th Department of Washington Convention are: June 22nd and 23rd. Early arrival will be on June 21st. with check out on Sunday, June 24th. The convention will be held at the Little Creek Resort/Casino. The resort is located on Highway 101 between Shelton and Olympia. More information will be forthcoming.

The Spring and Fall Staff Meetings are held in Yakima, Washington to make travel for everyone fairly equal in distance or time. There is normally a no-host hospitality suite or meeting area on Friday evening with a business meeting on Saturday morning. The Spring Staff Meeting for 2012 is scheduled for March 30th (evening hospitality) and March 31st (meeting) at the Oxford Inn and Suites.

All members in good standing in their detachments are welcome to attend the Spring and Fall Staff meetings as well as the annual Department Convention.
