The P.L. Wilson Detachment is happy to offer two unique choices for our 2012 convention attendees. Both hotels are Renaissance properties (a Marriot brand). They are located one block from each other and directly across the street from the Arthur Outlaw Convention Center, which will be the site of all MCL & MCLA business sessions and the MODD Supreme Growl. (see map for more details.) ‘Cross charge’ privileges apply at both hotels for your convenience.

The Battle House Renaissance Hotel & Spa
Built in 1852, The Battle House Renaissance Hotel & Spa is a luxury hotel located across from the Mobile Convention Center. The Battle House has been a favorite of entertainment celebrities, sports legends, a president and a king since 1852. In 2007, it was thoughtfully resorted to its original grandeur and is a proud member of Historic Hotels of America. This legendary AAA Four Diamond Hotel also offers The Trellis Room, Mobile's only Four Diamond Restaurant. The Spa at The Battle House is a 10,000 sq. ft., oasis boasting a full salon, eight treatment rooms, and a Zen-like fire pit in our spectacular, tranquil Quiet Room. (The Battle House is a pet friendly hotel. There is a $75.oo per week non-refundable sanitation fee.)
Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel
The Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel is a AAA Four Diamond hotel which underwent an extensive $75 million renovation in 2007. Step into a fresh space of contemporary design and experience world-class amenities unrivaled by other Gulf Coast hotels. The hotel is connected to the Arthur Outlaw Convention Center via a skywalk. Enjoy dining in the Harbor Room or listening to live music in Fathoms Lounge or enjoy the ambience of Fathoms Streetside. (We are recommending the Riverview for our attendees who will be using motorized scooters or wheelchairs due to the skywalk access to the Convention Center.)
Both hotels are fully handicap accessible. If you have special needs, please advise the staff when making reservations. For your convenience, Golf carts will be available at both hotels to transport you to/from the Convention Center and between the hotels.
